Mission Statement
We provide comprehensive fundraising consulting and assistance to entities that wish to apply for federal, state, local, or corporate/foundation grant funding. We take the burden of fundraising for your organization off of your shoulders. Whether you need funding for operating expenses, infrastructure, upgrades or installs, educational programming, equipment, or other expenses, S5 can do the research, apply for funding, and help you navigate the fundraising jungle! Our group primarily offers consulting and grant writing services to arts, community, educational, health, and social justice/equality-based organizations.
Why do you think it’s important for your business or organization to support nonprofits and community organizations in Southeast Michigan and what kind of positive impact do you think your work could have?
As the owner, operator, president, and CEO of S5 Consulting Group, it is important to serve organizations in Southeastern Michigan because it is my home. I was born and raised in Grosse Pointe Woods, and now reside with my husband and 3 boys in Bloomfield Hills. I have a vested interest in the State of Michigan, and the City of Detroit in particular, as this is where I work and where I want my children to raise their children. I would like to think that my over 20 years of fundraising experience has had a positive impact on Southeastern Michigan, from helping to establish the arts and culture group Sphinx Music, to currently writing grants to provide food during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Islamic Center of Detroit. I have written grants for the Detroit Historical Museum, a gem in the City, as well as worked for the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor to provide funding for a fellow who works in international disaster relief. All of the funding that I have raised in those 20 years has helped to serve the citizens of the State of Michigan, and shaped the City of Detroit to what it looks like today.
