We meet clients where their budgets are at and offer what people can afford. Over time, we build their capacity and budgets so they can have more efficient systems. These are time-based and deliverable-based projects that help implement long-term solutions.
Mission Statement
Mission Lift’s business philosophy is embedded in its’ name, lifting others’ mission. We serve metro Detroit clients: nonprofits, churches, businesses, schools and school districts. Our approach is circular structure with the clients in the center surrounded by a nimble consultant team. The circles are short term and provide a burst of expertise at affordable cost. We will partner with Featherstone Moments and Moree Strategic Insights. Our ultimate motivation is strengthening the nonprofits through capacity building, creating efficient systems so they can take on systematic oppression, be sustainable, have greater reach and to ultimately continue to love waking up every morning. Why do you think it’s important for your business or organization to support nonprofits and community organizations in Southeast Michigan and what kind of positive impact do you think your work could have?
Social disparities are very real and very prevalent – the underlying health, social, and economic inequities that exist in Detroit are why Mission Lift serves the people in this city. Mission Lift’s work brings about equity by helping to build the capacity of minority-led and minority-serving organizations. Because they are lower-resourced and are funded less, Mission Lift accompanies them to ensure they have access to more resources and funding. By doing so, Mission Lift strives to play a part in diminishing and lessening the inequities that exist across all facets of our society. Mission Lift’s positive impact is that oppressed populations and community members have a voice, have greater access to opportunity, and improved quality of life. We know this is possible because we have a track record of accomplishing this with the nonprofits we partner with (explained further in other responses below). Mission Lift is a Detroit-based company – it is where staff and consultants live, work, and play, so there is a strong connection to and pride of the city and its people. Mission Lift feels it is important to focus our work on people who have been targets of oppression and give preferential focus to people who have struggled the most. Since we are located in Detroit, we can be more sensitive to and collaborate with the people we serve.
