Nonprofits have played an instrumental role in my life. I would not have been able to accomplish many things without their assistance and if so, it certainly would’ve been much more difficult. Over many years working as a professional fundraiser for many nonprofits in southeast Michigan, I have seen the advantage that large nonprofits have – they have the funds to secure the best talent, the resources to purchase top-of-the-line software and professional development. Smaller, younger nonprofits, whose missions are just as important, struggle to raise funds and secure talent because of a lack of resources.
