Mission Statement
Core Focus Associates LLC partners with non-profit fundraising operations to provide business intelligence services aimed at driving major donor fundraising. Our focus is to add science to the art of fundraising, helping to identify prospects, conduct research, measure philanthropic potential, build and manage a donor network aimed at soliciting major investment, and utilize systems to plan and support an organization’s growth goals. Through these strategies and methods, we believe every organization, no matter its resources or size, can create and enhance more efficient, higher value long-term investment that allows growth beyond resource-heavy less reliable ones.
Why do you think it’s important for your business or organization to support nonprofits and community organizations in Southeast Michigan and what kind of positive impact do you think your work could have?
We inform fundraisers with prospect background and information so they can ask for major funds more effectively. With Michigan’s recent economic recovery, from the family foundations that drove the Detroit Grand Bargain, fundraising for Covid-19 response, to clothing cooperatives that care for, employ and empower the homeless, non-profits in Detroit and Southeast Michigan have been part of the area’s economic recovery and social fabric. Too often many, though, smaller organizations grow slowly in a philanthropic knowledge and resource vacuum, without access to the right tools. Missions are too often constrained by resources, which then restrain ambitions until enough awareness and slow growth builds to a breakout point. We aim to help non-profits avoid the pitfalls and pain inherent to slow growth models. Instead of learning as they go, fundraising leaders are prepared at the start with the right information. By having the right background research and information we enable those new to major donor fundraising to ask for more support and plan bolder, more impactful growth to serve their mission better and faster.
