Mission Statement
Emergence Collective works alongside organizations seeking to be more effective and reflective using more inclusive and participatory approaches. Our approach is centered on capacity building, it’s our priority to work with our partners in ways that truly moves the organization forward, helping them reach their potential without adding unwieldy processes. Our ultimate purpose is to ensure evaluation is in service of equity. Our team is is deeply committed to equity, justice and collaboration, and our consulting approach engages voices that are often left out of strategic problem solving and evaluation.
Why do you think it’s important for your business or organization to support nonprofits and community organizations in Southeast Michigan and what kind of positive impact do you think your work could have?
We believe that participatory and equitable evaluation have the potential to answer almost any question. As evaluators we take responsibility to build evaluation methods grounded in justice and equity that can be a tool for liberation. While our work takes on a number of forms from evaluation, to program development, to strategic planning, it is all rooted in the participatory methods that ensure those closest to the work are apart of the process from the beginning. We believe this work and approach is useful for any organization, particularly social benefit organizations. Ultimately, we are successful when we help organizations increase their impact and develop feedback loops to ensure that those they serve are informing organizational development along the way.
