Addional Pricing Information
Generally, after 1-2 informational conversations with executive directors or senior staff, we agree on a flat project fee or monthly retainer based on agreed-upon deliverables, timeline, project goals, # hours/week and frequency of meetings/urgency. Sometimes I bill hourly but that’s rare – I’d rather do a smart estimate up front, gain the predictability and save on the housekeeping. I will always do my best to work within any client’s budget. It is most important to me to be able to support 1) issues that matter to the communities I care about and 2) innovative leaders and teams.
Mission Statement
We give innovative leaders and social entrepreneurs more capacity to achieve their missions and to sustain themselves while doing difficult work. We also aim for systems change and more equitable access to opportunities in the communities we know and love. This means we need thoughtful growth plans, great speeches and everything in between. We strive for a blended approach – one that balances confidence with humility, words with actions, data collection with human connection, and out-of-the-box thinking with actual hands-on work. Since 2016, we have worked with clients in cities across Michigan, and in Chicago and New Orleans – and provide a mix of services including 1) fundraising strategy and grant writing/management, 2) message and materials development, 3) strategic planning, 4) light research projects and 5) general project management.
Why do you think it’s important for your business or organization to support nonprofits and community organizations in Southeast Michigan and what kind of positive impact do you think your work could have?
Led by Leah Martin, the Liberty Ellen team works with senior leaders to set ambitious, measurable, high-impact external relations goals to advance your vision. We then develop detailed, benchmarked plans to achieve those goals, and lead or assist in their implementation. As skilled project managers, we blend seamlessly early or late in your planning. We aim to:
  • Help nonprofit organizations grow their impact and operate more efficiently
  • Connect truly helpful resources to individuals who will most benefit – usually in education, public health, or workforce or community development
  • Advance legislation and inform public policy so that everyone has access to vibrant communities and choices that make for rich, joyful lives
