Mission Statement
The mission of No Nonsense Fundraising, LLC is to level the playing field for nonprofits serving low-income communities. As a small child, my mother received benefits from Focus Hope. When my younger brother accidentally set our home on fire twice, it was the Salvation Army that supplied clothing vouchers. On Thanksgiving and Christmas, the turkey was supplied by the LightHouse of Oakland County. These organizations, and others, helped level the playing field for me. And, I realize that I’ve chosen a career in nonprofits because it allows me to help level the playing field for others – especially those without means.
Why do you think it’s important for your business or organization to support nonprofits and community organizations in Southeast Michigan and what kind of positive impact do you think your work could have?
Nonprofits have played an instrumental role in my life. I would not have been able to accomplish many things without their assistance and if so, it certainly would’ve been much more difficult. Over many years working as a professional fundraiser for many nonprofits in southeast Michigan, I have seen the advantage that large nonprofits have – they have the funds to secure the best talent, the resources to purchase top-of-the-line software and professional development. Smaller, younger nonprofits, whose missions are just as important, struggle to raise funds and secure talent because of a lack of resources. The service provided by No Nonsense Fundraising is two-fold: First, organizations will work with No Nonsense Fundraising to identify areas where they are not employing the best practices necessary to work smarter, secure funds, and manage donor relationships. Second, No Nonsense Fundraising will have a thought-partner relationship with the nonprofit because fundraising and donor relations don’t happen in a bubble – it is everyone’s job!
