This map, which was designed by Data Driven Detroit, is a response to what Michigan Community Resources and Co.act Detroit heard as a need and desire of the consultants and capacity builders engaged through the Activate Fund program Service Provider cohort, launched by Co.act in 2020. The map is also meant to help facilitate connection and collaboration within the broader network of service providers.

The purpose of the Ecosystem Map is to:

• Visualize the network of specialists there are for a given capacity area, such as finance or communications
• Build awareness of the landscape of consulting resources available to nonprofits and other ecosystem stakeholders
• Facilitate connections between those cataloged by the map who share a common cause
• Identify gaps and areas of need within the ecosystem
